PLEASE NOTE: I AM NO LONGER OFFERING SWIM LESSONS. (I moved out of the South Bay area.)
However, I am still happy to discuss your dog’s issue and refer to another swim instructor.
OWN A POOL?
Does your dog know how to get out of your pool? I have heard too many stories of how a dog fell into a pool and drowned because they did not know where/how to exit. Please do not let this happen to your pet.
I PROVIDE SWIM LESSONS FROM THE CONVENIENCE OF YOUR OWN POOL.
I WILL TEACH YOUR DOG:
- How to get in/out of your pool safely
- Help them overcome their fear of swimming
- Teach you how to swim with your dog (this is only for Recreational Swimming)
Initial Home Visit lasts approximately one hour and prepayment is required. Contact Jean for further information.

Here are just a few TESTIMONIALS:
- My 8 year old Golden, Dudley, has been swimming with Jean, owner of TranquilPET, for about 4 years now. It’s been a perfect balance of fitness and fun for Dudley as he’s learned how to swim in a safe way. He has had the opportunity to also swim with other dogs which has helped him become better socialized. Whether you’re looking for senior swim exercises or recreational swimming for your dog, TranquilPET is THE BEST!! (Lindsey S.)
- My 13 year old lab, Stella, has had hip and shoulder arthritis. She seemed to be struggling walking, and then we found out about Jean, and TranquilPET. Jean has literally saved Stella’s life. Stella gets to Jean’s pool and all of a sudden is like a puppy, runs into pool yard and cannot wait to swim. Jean is so kind and patient. …. Jean is a dog whisperer, she is a dog healer. I cannot thank her enough. (Robin L.)
- I have been bringing my two dogs to Jean for about 5 years now. Coco: has had a full hip replacement and the guided swimming and massage to maximize his mobility has been life changing for him! Bree is 3 years old (when she started swimming), was a shy, unconfident rescue–swimming with Jean has brought out her confidence and joy in being an outgoing fearless pup! The transformation was beautiful. Jean has a gift –one of the best parts of our week!!! (Laura J.)
- Jean at TranquilPET is “just what the doctor (Vet) ordered”! After our 1 year old puppy got hit by a car and suffered paw/shoulder damage …. Vet recommended swimming. Jean has a great set up with a heated pool and one-on-one attention to the dog that is swimming. Jean has a patient and very kind personality and is wonderful with dogs! Thank you, Jean!!! (Angi B.)
- When I adopted my dog, Jax, he not only had social and behavioral issues, he had dysplasia in both his front legs which limited the amount of exercise he could do. Swimming with Jean has been so transformative for him on both these issues. He is now a happy, loving, and confident dog who loves to swim and he has had no pain or limping …. Couldn’t recommend TranquilPET more.(Onnie H.)

LEARN TO SWIM:
Contrary to popular belief, not all dogs swim instinctively or even enjoy it. I help your dog build their confidence to eliminate their fear of the water and have fun doing it!
Each dog is different — some overcome fears during their first swim. For others, it may take longer — watch Elvis video — Elvis took 9 separate swims before he overcame his fear and started having fun. Today, he is an expert dock-diver. (At first, we could not get him in the water ….. today, we cannot keep him out!)
RECREATIONAL SWIM:
This category is for the dog that already knows how to swim and swims for overall fun, fitness & exercise. Recreational swimmers have no medical issues. They may or may not wear a life vest.
Other benefits: Sometimes I find that a dog prefers swimming with another dog (not just me). If that is the case with your dog, I may pair with another dog. This swim still includes all benefits listed above.
(No more than 3 dogs will be allowed in my pool at any given time — and I am always in the pool with them.)
WELLNESS SWIM:
This swim is appropriate for all senior dogs: arthritic, overweight, and dogs that require low impact workout.
As our dogs age, we become aware that they struggle with long walks. Swimming replaces those walks as it is non-weight bearing and builds up those leg muscles and improve cardio endurance. This swim is designed to replace those long walks.
This swim requires your vet’s written approval – no exceptions. DOWNLOAD Vet Approval Form
